The Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Plaza Foundation is pleased to announce it has begun development of its first Safe Spot, Skate Spot in Los Angeles’ Lafayette Park. The Lafayette Safe Spot, Skate Spot will be completed by late February 2009.
As you know last Saturday was Go Skateboarding Day, with tons of skateboarders taking over streets worldwide. DC did a little takeover as well: joining Active and Alien Workshop, we threw a huge event at the Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Plaza in Kettering, Ohio.
Last Thursday was Go Skateboarding Day, and to celebrate Rob Dyrdek, Devine Calloway, and Sean Malto took a break from DC King of L.A. activities to head out to the Skate Plaza in Kettering, Ohio.
We all know that Rob Dyrdek and the Skate Plaza concept are slowly changing the face of street skateboarding by making outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful and useable by the community, but also 100% skateable (and legal to skate).

The Red Bull "Hammers Vs. Bangers" Best Trick contest was held as part of the Skate Plaza's grand opening ceremonies last Saturday. After a mild rain delay, Chris Cole won the individual Small, Medium and Large sessions, and as a result took the overall win and $32,000 in prize money.
More than 3,000 skaters turned up in Kettering, Ohio to be part of history last Saturday as Skate Plaza pioneer Rob Dyrdek kicked off the grand opening ceremonies of the world's first Skate Plaza.
